	From the Silmarillion, Tinuviel dancing.... This was an illustration for Cicada magazine when they reprinted Tolkien's poem about Tinuviel. Medium: Pencil Size: 9x12 inches

20 Oct 2007	David Michael	Loading... How do you get pencilwork to SHINE? Nevermind, I'm not an artist, it won't do any good to actually tell me (unless you've got some magic potion/chant/spell that can make me a competent illustrator in a short time. This is a beautiful picture. Kind of a more classical approach to Luthien, but a gorgeous and intriguing one. The pencil grays add a darker, more mystical quality to their story. Although, she looks like a blonde here instead of the brunette Tolkien describes her as. That's a technical thing, though, and doesn't detract from the beauty of the picture.
